Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain

Jal Pakhwada (16th – 30th April 2026)

Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public School observed Jal Pakhwada from 16th to 30th April 2026 under the nationwide initiative Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain, with the objective of promoting water conservation and sustainable water management practices among students and the community.
The campaign emphasized the importance of water as a precious resource and aimed at nurturing responsible and environmentally conscious citizens.
A series of activities were conducted during the fortnight. The Jal Shapath (Water Pledge) was administered daily during the morning assembly, reinforcing the commitment to conserve water and adopt responsible usage habits. Students participated in creative expression activities, including quizzes, slogan writing, and poster-making competitions on the theme “Save Water, Secure the Future,” encouraging awareness through innovation and expression.
As part of the Community Awareness Drive, students reached out to families and neighbours, promoting water conservation practices and spreading awareness about rainwater harvesting. In alignment with the Catch the Rain initiative, students were sensitized to the importance of rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, and traditional water conservation methods.
The observance of Jal Pakhwada highlighted that consistent individual efforts and collective responsibility are key to ensuring a sustainable future. The initiative concluded with the message:
“Save Water Today, Secure Tomorrow.”
