Celebration of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas 2025

In commemoration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public School celebrated Janjatiya Gaurav Divas 2025 with great enthusiasm and reverence. As per the directions of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the period from 1st November to 15th November 2025 was observed as Janjatiya Gaurav Pakwada.

The fortnight-long celebration aimed to honour the invaluable contributions of tribal freedom fighters and to recognize the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and identity of India’s tribal communities.

The programme began with an introduction to the life and legacy of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the legendary tribal leader and freedom fighter who courageously opposed British colonial rule and dedicated his life to protecting the rights, culture, and dignity of the tribal population. His inspirational leadership, commitment to justice, and unwavering patriotism continue to guide generations.

Activities Conducted (1st – 15th November 2025)

Day 2 – 3rd November 2025


Warli Art on Jute Bags – Students of Class 4 created beautiful tribal Warli art on eco-friendly jute bags, showcasing traditional tribal art forms.

Day 3 – 4th November 2025


Storytelling Activity – Students narrated inspirational tribal folk tales and stories highlighting courage, unity, and cultural values.

Day 4 – 6th November 2025


Quiz Competition (Class 6) – A quiz based on tribal culture, tribal leaders, and their contribution to the freedom struggle was conducted.

Digital Learning Initiative


Students viewed NCERT-prepared educational videos illustrating the life of Birsa Munda and the heritage of tribal communities.

Day 5 – 7th November 2025


Essay Writing Competition (Class 8) – Students wrote essays to express their understanding of tribal identity, struggles, and contributions in shaping the nation.

Day 6 – 10th November 2025


Nukkad Natak by Class 7 – A street play was performed highlighting themes of tribal rights, social justice, unity, and Birsa Munda’s leadership.

Day 10 – 14th November 2025


Reflection & Presentation Day – A special assembly was conducted where students offered a floral tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

Students of Class 10 delivered speeches presenting:


His early life and upbringing

His fight against British oppression

His role in the Munda Rebellion

His efforts to safeguard tribal culture and rights

The programme was witnessed by all students and staff, fostering respect and awareness about India’s tribal communities.

The Janjatiya Gaurav Divas celebration was a meaningful tribute to India’s tribal freedom fighters and their significant contributions to the nation’s history. The activities conducted during the fortnight helped students develop awareness about tribal culture, inclusivity, and the importance of preserving India’s diverse heritage.
