Homage
offered to Mahatma Gandhi and celebration of
Basant
Panchmi and Cleanliness Day
With the blessings of
Sant Hirdaram Sahibji and Rev. Siddh Bhauji Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public
School celebrated National Cleanliness Day on the pious day of Basant Panchmi
on 30th January 2020 in the memory of our Father of Nation, "Mahatma
Gandhi" emphasizing the fact that cleanliness is next to Godliness in the
presence of Principal, NHLPS, Manish R. K. Jain, coordinators, teachers and
students.
The programme commenced
by paying homage to the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi by offering flowers and
playing 'Vaishnav jan ke tene kahiye' in the background.
Principal, Mr. Manish
R. K. Jain wishing Happy Basant Panchmi to all told the significance of the
day. He said that today they had gathered to pay homage to Father of Nation-
Mahatma Gandhi by celebrating National Cleanliness Day and Basant Panchmi.
Cleanliness day can be celebrated by taking the pledge of keeping the house,
surrounding and country neat and clean. He emphasised upon the fact that the
students should dispose of the garbage in the dustbins only, after eating and
drinking. He further added that we should welcome Basant Panchmi whole
heartedly and keep the school 'Anger Free Zone' and students should start
preparing for their exams on the precious day.
He appreciated the NCC
cadets for their wonderful performance on the Republic Day. They could only do
this under the expert guidance of their coaches and Ms Geeta Rajput, PGT PE.

wishing everyone happy Basant Panchmi enlightened all with the importance of
the day and told that from this day onwards the pleasant weather starts after
the severe cold winter. She further added that on this day Goddess Saraswati is
worshipped to shower her blessings on us and is the best day to start the
education of a child.

VIII C of Sadhu Vaswani house spoke on Cleanliness Day. She told that it is the
day to move forward the drive of 'Swachh Bharat Mission' proposed by our Prime
Minister Narendra Modiji. According to him our country will be 100% free from
open defecation till 26th Sept 2023. So we should all render our
hands to the mission.
The morning assembly spread
the fragrance of bhajan and group dance.
At 11'o clock two
minutes silence was observed to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhiji.
The day followed a
special puja of Maa Saraswati in the school temple conducted by Ms. Mrinal
Despande, TGT Sanskrit along with Joint Secretary Shri K.L Ramnani, Management
Incharge, Shri Manohar Vaswani, Principal, Mr. Manish R.K. Jain, coordinators,
teachers and students. Students sang Bhajan and Aarti. Prasad was given to
teachers and students. Staff members also observed the day by wearing yellow
coloured sarees.
The students of Std.
I-IV enthusiastically took the initiative to clean their classes and their bags
under CCA activity to mark the day making the students aware of personal
hygiene and importance of keeping their surrounding neat and clean and taking
the drive of Swachh Bharat to its height.
The day passed with joy
and happiness.
