70^th REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

Under the guidance of Rev. Siddh Bhauji, Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public School and Mithi Gobindram Public School celebrated India’s 70^th Republic Day in all its solemnity and grandeur on 26^th January, 2019 at MGPS playground. The momentous day was chosen for Sports Day Prize Distribution Ceremony of both the schools.

Chairman, Shaheed Hemu Kalani Educational Society, Rev. Siddh Bhauji, Chief Guest, Col. Raju Kishnani, Special Guest Col. Parwani, Vice-President, Shri Hero Gyanchandani, Secretary, Shri. A.C. Sadhwani, Joint Secretary, Shri. K.L. Ramnani, Treasurer, Shri K.L. Motwani, Management Member, Shri Bhagwan Babani, Management Incharge Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public School, Shri Manohar Vaswani, Principal Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public School, Mr. Manish R. K. Jain and Vice-Principal Ms. Amrita Motwani, Principal Mithi Gobindram Public School, Mr. Ajaykant Sharma and Vice-Principal Ms. Rita Gurbani, Co-coordinators, teachers and students in huge number were present on the occasion.

Col. Raju Kishnani hoisted the National Flag in the pious presence of Rev. Siddh Bhauji. The patriotic fervour warmed up the cold winter morning as the dignitaries and students of both the institutions enthusiastically sang the National Anthem.

The programme commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp and floral offerings in the lotus feet of Maa Bharti, Maa Saraswati and Paramhans Sant Hirdaram Sahibji.

Chief Guest Col. Raju Kishnani took the inspection of the parade which was followed by a well-coordinated march past by the NCC troops and the school band of NHLPS and MGPS. National pledge was administered by the Head boy, Mas. Aditya Kapoor, MGPS.

Principal, NHLPS, Mr. Manish R. K. Jain, welcomed all the dignitaries and wished the convocation a very Happy Republic Day. He gave the introduction of the Chief Guest and informed the students about his achievements and accolades.

The Chief Guest of the occasion, Col. Raju Kishnani expressed his happiness in being a part of Republic Day celebration of the institutions. He motivated the students to be mentally, spiritually and physically strong through active participation in sports, as it helps in acquiring various skills such as discipline, cooperation and team spirit. He spoke about the importance of schools in providing a platform to the students in developing sportsmanship.

Students of both schools demonstrated their expertise through various displays to showcase their skills in Judo, Yoga, Martial Arts, Aerobics, Boxing and Taekwondo. Students of MGPS enthralled the audience with a dance display on the song ‘Namaste India’ which left all the spectators mesmerised and received a thunderous applause by them. This went along with musical tribute to the martyrs of our country through patriotic songs by Music teachers and students of both the institutions.

          This was followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony. The prizes were given away for excellence in their performances to NHLPS and MGPS students for inter school sports events. NHLPS House Trophy was won by Sadhu Vaswani House whereas Sadhu Heeranand House won the runner up trophy. MGPS House Trophy was won by Sadhu Vaswani House whereas Dr. Radha Krishnan House won the runner up trophy.

          The Chief Guest was honoured with a Shawl and Shriphal as a gesture of gratitude according to the custom of the society.

          Vote of thanks was proposed by Secretary, SHKES, Shri. A.C. Sadhwani. Finally, all assembled and bowed to the strains of the National Song, Vande Mataram, a perfect tribute to the motherland.

          The students dispersed after distribution of sweets with the image of the fluttering tricolour in their minds.
