HOW TO CELEBRATE ECO FRIENDLY DIWALI

Motivational Session by Rev. Siddh Bhauji organised in Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public School on celebrating Eco-friendly Diwali

Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public School organised a motivational session on how to celebrate eco-friendly Diwali in the pious presence by Rev. Siddh Bhauji, Chairman, SHKES, Mr. Manish R.K. Jain, Principal, Ms. Amrita Motwani, Vice-Principal, Coordinator, Teachers, NHLPS and students of classes I to XII.

            The session commenced with lighting the ceremonial lamp at the lotus feet of Goddess Saraswati, Maa Bharti and His Holiness Sant Hirdaram Sahibji and by singing prayer to express gratitude towards the Almighty.

            Rev. Siddh Bhauji emphasized of being a good human being. For being so we must have reverence for parents and teachers. Furthermore he urged the students to leave social sites and devote themselves towards their goals to become a knowledgeable person. He told the students to study in their study room so that they can concentrate. He asked the students to keep faith in their teachers and parents as they have solutions of all problems.     

Mr. Manish R.K. Jain welcoming all, told to celebrate safe Diwali. He made the children aware about cybercrimes. He told the children not to play video games on mobiles rather they should play on ground. If anyone tries to take their advantage on social sites then they can take help from cybercrime.gov.in, shebox.nic.in, track the raising child.gov.in, childmeindia.org, Khoya Paya android app. finds herself in difficulty.

            Ms. Amrita Motwani, Vice-Principal shared with the students, the tips to celebrate Eco-friendly Diwali. She told the students to develop inter-personal skills, to co-operate with each-other and to enhance their communication skills. Third thing which we should learn from Lord Rama is to have a healthy lifestyle along with a balanced diet.

            The first thing she told was not to force parents to buy costly clothes for the festival or spend exorbitant money to buy crackers for this festival of lights and mar the beauty of this festival.

Dr. Rekha Kewlani, Coordinator & Ms. Seema Sharma emphasized on the harmful effect of crackers on atmosphere and human body. She said that these crackers are polluting our resources on earth and limiting them. The coming generations will have more disastrous atmosphere. The crackers have ill effects on hearing and energy. The crackers are made with chemicals which are enemies of our health and affects different parts of our body such as heart, brain, lungs, kidneys and bone growth.    

            Ms. Rini Sunil, Coordinator & Ms. Usha Raghav informed the students about the reasons behind celebrating this auspicious festival through some mythological and historical stories. They told them the importance of this day in Jain, Buddha and Sikh religion. They explained the harmful effects caused by air pollution on our health and surroundings due to burning of crackers as they contain poisonous chemicals. Burning crackers also leads to killing of so many innocent animals and birds which are an important part of our nature.

Ms. Rita Ahuja, in her address, threw light on the significance of celebrating Diwali. She cited instances from religious texts to explain the purpose behind celebrating Diwali through a video clip. Students were asked questions to apprise them about the importance of the festival of lights-‘Diwali’.

 Dr. Archana Gupta & Ms. Shobhana Dubey gave a Clarion call to the students to celebrate Diwali for the sake of happiness not for expenditure. They told that it should be celebrated religiously and traditionally with fervour and gaiety.

            The students took a pledge celebrate “Green Diwali” and make this planet a safe living place for future generations. The vote of thanks was proposed by Manya Morandani of class-IV-A, Jaspreet Kaur of Std. VI, Gauri Menaria of Std. VII-B-, Kashish Chandnani  & Mitali Gour of Std. IX-A.

            Shraddha Verma school captain emphasized on homemade sweets. She gave an awakening call to the students to bring light in the life of poor people. This will be the first step towards changing the society. She reminded all to be goal oriented.

            The session was successfully compered by Dr. Archana Gupta, Teacher, NHLPS. The session concluded with a feeling of elation and motivation in everyone’s heart.
