Gender Sensitivity

          Capacity Building Training Programme for teachers on Gender Sensitivity was organised by Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public School (initiated by CBSE) was conducted on 16 Sept. 2017.

The programme commenced with malyarpan and deep prajwalan at the lotus feet of Ma. Saraswati, Ma Bharti and His Holiness Sant Hirdaram Sahibji. The programme was graced with the presence of Management Incharge Mr. Manohar Vaswani, Heads of both the institutions and teachers from various schools.

Ms. Poonam Shekhawat, the resource person for the day, had interactive and knowledgeable session for the teachers. The topic ‘Gender Sensitivity’ was dealt effectively and easily with the help of a number of activities. The teachers were divided in groups and they gave their opinions on this sensitive issue through discussions, demonstrations and presentations. The discussions were held on various topics such as Gender construct of the society, a gender sensitive school and classroom Environment, gender sensitive pedagogy and teaching learning materials. The idea behind this workshop was to set the facilitators on the path of thinking process to reduce the gender gap between girls and boys to an extent so that they learn to respect each-other and build a society where they get equal opportunities to excel in life.

The programme ended with the honour of the resource persons with shawl and shriphal as per the tradition of Shaheed Hemu Kalani Educational Society.
